Through our Premier Partnership, BHCCU awards one nonprofit organization an annual donation to support their programs that create meaningful, lasting change in the communities we serve.

A donation award selected by the people who know our communities best—our BHCCU team.
Each year, BHCCU employees nominate nonprofit organizations they are passionate about, which are then included in a member survey where votes are cast to select the next year’s Local First Credit Card recipient. The chosen organization exemplifies the cooperative spirit of “people helping people,” and we are honored to partner with them as they continue making a powerful difference close to home.

On behalf of our team, Blackhawk Community Credit Union is proud to announce our 2026 Local First Credit Card Recipient: VetsRoll!

VetsRoll is a nonprofit organization that honors and thanks WWII & Korean War Veterans and Rosies-the-Riveters for their service and sacrifices by providing all-expense-paid, multi-day trips to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor.

As the recipient, VetsRoll will receive $500 and $10 for every new or transferred card up to a grand total of $1,000. BHCCU will also fund marketing efforts such as digital, radio, and printed advertisements, along with inviting our staff to attend volunteering opportunities and fundraising events for the nonprofit throughout the year. (There are no regulations from BHCCU on how the awarded nonprofit uses the funds from this donation.)

BHCCU wishes you continued success in your fundraising efforts, outreach, and initiatives as you expand your reach and make an even greater impact!

Only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, 501(c)(4) social welfare organizations, and 501(c)(6) business leagues will be considered for this charitable contribution in the communities we serve. Winners will be chosen by BHCCU Board volunteers and notified by January 2027. Nonprofit will be responsible to pay any taxes and must agree to allow BHCCU to use their organization name and mission in marketing and media announcements.
