How does Blackhawk Community Credit Union protect my personal information?
To protect your personal information for unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
 
We also restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees and volunteers who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data.
How does Blackhawk Community Credit Union collect my personal information?
We collect your personal information, for example, when you
  • open an account or show your government-issued ID
  • apply for a loan or use your credit or debit card
  • make deposits or withdrawals from your account
We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus or other companies.
Why can't I limit all sharing?
Federal law only gives you the right to limit information sharing as follows:
  • sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes- information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you
State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

Nonaffiliates
Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. 
  • Nonaffiliates we share with can include insurance companies, federal, state, and local governments (as permitted by law), direct marketing companies, product servicing companies, consumer reporting agencies, credit card companies, and auditors.
Affiliates
Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.
  • Blackhawk Community Credit Union has no Affiliates
Joint marketing
A formal agreement between Blackhawk Community Credit Union and a nonaffiliated financial company where we jointly market financial products or services to you.

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and leading industry practices to safeguard your nonpublic personal information.
 
Visitors to the Blackhawk Community Credit Union website remain anonymous. We do not collect identifying information about visitors to our site. We do use standard website software to collect non-identifying information about our visitors, such as Date and Time, IP Address, and the type of web browser used.
 
Any information that is sent to Blackhawk Community Credit Union via e-mail or through our website is used internally and is not sold to outside organizations.
